Image/Inspiration: Eve stands alone from Adam. She is enfolded safely and stands strongly with The Tree of Knowledge. In her hands she balances a cresent moon. The gold falls down from her heart to feed the moon. The moon returns the gold to her. A trinity of birds flies around the source of all. Eve stands between the gold and silver spheres of the source. Floral motifs ground her. Mosaic swirls echo the shapes of a snake. She needs no snake to make her decision to live in wisdom and knowledge. She is the mother of us all. This form is a Santos style retablo. Despite the traditional subject matter, he unique symbology of the image of Eve puts this art a bit in the ex-voto category of retablos.
