Cristina is the May Featured Artist at Art by Latina Artist's.com!
Maria Sanchez is the creative talent behind the website ArtByLatinaArtists.com (ABLA. A philanthropist, artist, writer and webmaster, she has garnered her creative powers to create a place that shares the creativity and artistry of Latina women with the world. Latinas can showcase their art, music and writings with others that share their love of creative expression. This month, Cristina is the featured artist at Art by Latina Artists. Maria Sanchez describes her mission poetically. "We are mothers, sisters, primas, daughters, grandmothers, comadres and amigas. We are artists, poets, musicians, artesanas, and designers. Each with our own style and unique personalities. We are from different walks of life, yet we share our latino heritage in our voices and creative expression. We are emerging, established, fine and folk artists, classically trained and self-taught. We are mujeres creativas inspired by our memory canvases, our histories, familias, faith, music and cultura."
Cristina is proud to be part of the ArtByLatinaArtists.com community.

Cristina wrote about her abuelita's (grandmother's) artistic
contribution to the culture of the Los Angeles area in the
early 1920's.
She's also contributed some of her thoughts about color and
art:
"Lush colors are associated with the richness and
diversity of Latino culture. It’s the love of abundant
color, not particular hue that defines the Latina soul.
Whether you love sun-drenched or subdued colors or something
in between, learning to choose colors that resonate with you
is the key to success. Regardless of the trends in home
décor, remember that ultimately you will feel your
best in a home that reflects your soul and the spirit of your
family." Read
